A GRC knowledge initiative · Pilot catalogue

African scholarship,
made easier to find.

A growing, cross-disciplinary catalogue of African scholars and Africa-grounded collaborations across education, health, law, governance, gender and family studies, development, philosophy, psychology, research methods and more.

Why this repository exists

Knowledge cannot shape the world if it remains difficult to discover.

This repository follows GRC’s work wherever African scholarship leads. It is not limited to one discipline or research theme: it brings together the scholars GRC has engaged through research, teaching, editing, consultation and resource development, and it will continue to grow through verification, corrections and new submissions.

Editorial standard

Curated with care.
Clear about limits.

01

Verified records

Bibliographic details and external links are checked before publication and corrected when reliable evidence is supplied.

02

Cross-disciplinary African scope

The organising principle is African scholarship—not a single field. African scholars are indexed across disciplines, with Africa-grounded collaborations and diasporic work included when directly relevant to GRC’s evidence base.

03

Copyright respected

This is a discovery catalogue, not an unauthorised PDF archive. Full text is hosted only when permission or an appropriate open licence allows it.

04

Living collection

Inclusion is not an endorsement, and omission is not a judgement of value. The pilot collection will expand as new material is reviewed.

About the labels: discipline and context labels are practical discovery aids, not rigid intellectual boundaries or definitive statements about an author’s nationality or identity. Multi-disciplinary work may appear under more than one field.

Help the collection grow

Who should be here next?

Suggest an African scholar or a relevant Africa-grounded publication in any discipline. Please include enough information for GRC to verify the record and link to a legitimate source.

Submission checklist
  • Scholar or author name
  • Full title and year
  • Publication or institution
  • DOI or legitimate source link
  • Discipline, context and theme
